Tri Simulation at Uniten 25-03-07

was excited cause my first time trying out swim-bike and run.......

woke up very early at 630 am cause wanna make sure i got all the stuff needed for the simulation....... penatlah banyak sangat barang..... last time if swim just bring trunks and goggles, if bike, bring bike, helmet, shoes, etc... and if run, running shoes and attire........ now i gotta bring all of it.......

reach Uniten at about 8am..... everyone was there as promised....... Azwar (IM), Jaja, Faie, Abu, Saiful and Fairuz (last 3 just met)......... but still cannot go in as pool only opens at 830 am... so just sembang sembang first......

for swim at Uniten pool, we did interval training of up to 1.5k...... was good as faie manage to swim non stop for 1.5k for the first time...... jaja was also happy that she felt some pressure to speed up...

after that was bike around Bangi area (Azwar's teritory)..... getting ready was a hassle as still have to get the bike out of the car.... manage to clock about 33-34km but the route was hilly........ certain stretch only though......... good training...... the hot sun was killing us already......

last but not least the run in Uniten......... we started at 12pm..... can u believe it ?? the hot sun was blaring on us...... legs were still going strong but felt really hot inside..... like the engine going to explode... manage barely 4.5km.... (wanted to do at least 5km) ...........

was a really good simulation and didnt felt as hard as we didnt push ...... but the weather was really hot and i did feel unconfortable for the rest of the day...........

revenge kepala hotak kao........

had a good rest on Saturday....... only some short swimming about 20 mins in the morning... i felt lethargic though the whole day...... have been a hard week........ not only training but working as well...... had dinner with Kenny (close buddy whom i got into 10k tommorow) early and went back and slept by 10pm....... suprisingly didnt find it hard to sleep as normally i will think alot before any races......

manage to wake up at 5am... had my white coffee and powerbar before leaving at 530 am...... didnt have any idea where to park so just drove straight into Dataran...... shit all the roads area close........ have to make one big round before coming into Masjid Jamek.....luckily got some parking space nearby....

as i was walking towards the starting line..... some officials have already asked us to go faster as it was about to start....... but i still thought the starting was at 630 am......... so still relax ..... reached there still got time to pee........ was very suprised as there was no queue..... wah very good ah...... when i reach the starting line baru kelam kabut........ cilakak...... started about 6 mins ago....... so without warmup i simply attached the chip and started my run......

after a few minutes managed to catch one fat runner who was panting like hell...... fuuhhhh... what a relief....... finally caught up with Azman, Mary, Jaja and Khairul........ one by one managed to pass Karen, Wendy and some other ppl as well........

wanted to clock under 1:45 but when reached the 10k mark was already 54 mins... shit sure cannot do it already....... furthermore body dont feel strong at all and was merely crusing along.... finally after bukit bintang can see the finishing line already...... thinking that still can make 1:45... started to sprint ....... then another mistake... we are suppose to do 2 laps.......... so gotta pusing again....... taht time semangat already low....... finally finished........

not too bad but not good either....... guess there would be many more half marathon to come... didnt had time to take pictures as was rushing for another appointment..... love the timing chip though.......... very accurate and nice to hear the bip sound..........

SMART Tunnel Run

wasn't very excited with the tunnel run cause A Famosa Tri is coming up......

was still thinking whether to do OD - Olympic Distance or just the sprint........ but sprint is a bit short lah ........ no kick..... therefore have decided to do OD....... but then worse discipline was cycling.... how not to be the worse when practically have no training for the last 2 months..... just concentrate on swim and running nia........ die lah like this....... cycle 40km is not easy mah....... but have been working hard on the trainer since the last 2 weeks...... hehehe just 2 sessions of 1 hr each....... managed to get an average of 25km following program 1....... but it was really tough as i could hardly walk after that..... so how to run......??? anyway after KLIM will concentrate more on bike and doing some brick work....... that is to simulate bike then run immediately...... but just intend to finish only........ no need to put so much pressure on myself..

coming back to Tunnel Run.......... wah was not feeling strong at all.......... slept about 5 hrs before getting up and reaching the car park at about 645 am....... a lot of ppl were there already....... managed to meet up with Khairul, Jaja, Faie, Wendy, Mary, Bacin, FGump, Azmar, etc... before flag off....... it was late and there were so many ppl in my category..... just after the flag off had to pee......... thought of holding on for the rest of the race but decided agaisnt it....... somemore there were so many ppl peeing by the side of the road just in front of the traffic police....... so what the heck....... just pee only lah........ wasted about 21/2 minute just starting from the flag off and peeing........ the run in the tunnel was bad...... the air was smelly and it was like an oven...... even though they had big fans but only at certain areas........

we were lucky in the sense that there was still plenty of water for us........ those who started later suffered as they ran out of water........ bad planning ........ my pia spirit was still strong and about to finish manage to sayur 3 runners and barely got a medal........ after a while the official started to annouce last 10 medals........... so i didnt finish that well lah 1:12 for about 14km race..... damn bloody slow weh......... but what to do....... u cant be strong all the time...... guess i havent been running a lot and the cycling yesterday has taken the toll on me...

next week........ revenge in KLIM............

CNY Holidays

yep CNY is back... dont seem to have the mood though... MALAS........

went back to Langkawi on 17th Feb morning... OMG 5am already jam teruk.... dont know waht time to arrive..... reach the first pit stop at Tg. Malim at about 7am.... the queue at the toilets was just as bad..... just went to some covered area to do my business.... no time to queue already... after that stretch traffic came back to normal and manage to reach Alor Setar by 1230pm.... bought the 330 pm ticket cause earlier ones was full.... finally reach Langkawi at 5pm..........

it was still the same like the past years except that Grandma was no longer here.. ... so we cannot actually celebrate cause we are suppose to be mourning.... parents left for Penang the next day while me and sis stayed back just to lepak around.... as usual had my run training in Langkawi... found the LISRAM hill... damn steep man.... very good hillwork training for 2 days... met up with a Malay runner who is also doing KLIM ..... cant really remember his name though...

came back on Friday as gotta to catch up some work... so had to miss the IM race on saturday... neways met up with the gang Zim, Azwar, Azhar,etc. just to chat up..... saw some really nice bikes though...

didnt train much as i was physically tired all week... dont know why...... hope to continue back after the SMART Tunnel run and KLIM....... A Famosa is coming up... yahoo... my first OD triathlon..... wish me luck yeah...
